Nanoformulations are mainly made of nanocarriers that bind drugs to the carrier surface through electrostatic adsorption, covalent or non-covalent connection, or directly wrap the drug inside the carrier. With the advantages of improving the stability of drugs, prolonging the circulation time in the body, increasing safety, and enabling targeted delivery, nanoformulations show great potential in improving the tissue distribution of drugs and thus increasing bioavailability. CD Formulation has been committed to nanoformulation development for many years, assisting researchers or companies from various countries in the formulation development, process optimization, quality control and commercial manufacturing of nanoformulations.
Nanoformulations refer to a new type of pharmaceutical formulations developed using nanocarrier technology, are widely used in therapeutic or diagnostic applications. In particular, nanoformulations have great potential in multiple therapeutic fields such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, nucleic acid therapeutics, postoperative medication, and photothermal therapy, etc.

Journal: Coordination Chemistry Reviews
IF: 20.6
Published: 2019
Results:
The authors introduce the main techniques for the preparation of porous carbon nanoparticles containing spherical porous carbon nanoparticles (SPCN) and metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived porous carbon, including (soft/hard) templates, self-assembly, Stöber method and hydrothermal carbonization, in particular to study the design and functionalization of spherical mesoporous carbon nanoparticles (MCN) at the molecular level. The synthesis of MOF nanoparticles (nanoMOF) via coordination modulation was then considered. Finally, key therapeutic applications of porous carbon materials in controlled drug delivery, bioimaging, and photothermal and multimodal therapies are outlined.
