Vancomycin hydrochloride is an antibiotic used to study bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting the second stage of cell wall synthesis in susceptible bacteria. Vancomycin hydrochloride also alters membrane permeability and selectively inhibits ribonucleic acid synthesis
