Stability and Storage Conditions

Source and Preparation
It is formed from sorbitol dehydrated to sorbitol anhydride and esterified with excess stearic acid.
Applications
This product is used in medicine, cosmetics, textile, paint, explosives industry as emulsifier, but also as textile oil agent, oil deep well weighted mud as emulsifier, paint industry as dispersant, oil products as a cosolvent and rust prevention agent. W/O food emulsifier, used alone or in combination with Tween-60, Tween-80 and Tween-65 ~ Chinese regulations can be used for cream, hydrogenated vegetable oil, instant coffee and dry yeast, the maximum dosage is 10.0g/kg; The maximum usage in beverage turbidity agent is 0.05g/kg.
Safety
Sorbitan ester is widely used in cosmetics, food, oral and local pharmaceutical preparations, generally considered non-toxic and non-irritating. However, there have been occasional reports of allergic reactions to local agents containing sorbitan ester. When heated to decomposition temperature, sorbitan ester releases irritating smoke.
