Applications
Carbomer can be used as a binder and coating material for granules and tablets, a matrix for external preparations, an emulsifier (for the preparation of O/W emulsions for external use), a viscosity enhancer and suspending agent, and a sustained and controlled release material ( The sustained and controlled release of carbomer is based on its swelling and gel-forming properties).
