Drops

Drops are liquid preparations of drugs, usually in solution, intended to be administered to patients in small doses with the aid of suitable measuring devices (calibrated droppers). Typical drops include eye drops, nose drops and ear drops. Eye drops are the most commonly used drops. It is a kind of drug solution that drops sterile solution or drug suspension into the eyes with a burette. Eye drops are usually made in water-based carriers. It should be aseptic and isotonic, with breast secretions, buffer and no foreign bodies, so as to avoid eye irritation. Nasal drops are drops of drug solution into the nose with a dropper. They are usually aqueous rather than oily. The nasal drops shall be isotonic with a neutral pH and viscosity similar to that of nasal secretions made from methanol. Ear drops are drops of a drug solution that are piped into the ear. These are commonly used to clean ears, soften wax and treat mild infections.

The Process of Developing Drops

Water purification

Take water that meets drinking standards and remove impurities through chemical processing. This processed water then undergoes ion-exchange treatment, ultrafiltration and finally distillation before we consider it to be pure enough for production purposes.

Formulation

The purified water is pumped to the formulation tank through airtight and sterile pipes. The raw ingredients is showered with air to remove unwanted particles and then stored temporarily. The ingredients are then accurately weighed and placed in the formulation tank in a specific sequence.

Filling

All formulation, the resulting solution are sterile microfiltration, and then sent to the blowing / filling / sealing machine through airtight sterile pipes. Since this step is most susceptible to bacterial contamination, the air quality of the filled area should be maintained at a level comparable to the operating room standard.

Inspection

After the blowing / filling / sealing machine rolls out solution containers in a sheet formation, a cutting machine slices out individual bottles which are sent to the inspection line for any irregularities. The products are then sent to packaging.

Packaging/Storage

Further test the sample products and ensure the quality control inspection of sterility and chemical quality. If the test results of these sterility, physical chemistry, water quality, environmental monitoring and other items are qualified, the products can be shipped.
