Oral thin film is a preparation of postage stamp size, with the advantages of flexible, tasty and without water for oral administration. CD Formulation offers comprehensive R&D solutions for the development of antihistamine oral thin films. Our services include formulation design and optimization, taste masking, API-excipient compatibility and stability studies, manufacturing process development, and analytical method establishment, ensuring a seamless and efficient development process.
Allergic reactions can seriously affect people's life and even threaten their lives. Our R & D team is dedicated to develop antihistamines oral thin film for relieving allergy symptoms.
Applications | Detailed Information |
Case 1: Prevent allergic disorders Fexofenadine HCL is an antihistamine that has inadequate oral bioavailability and limited aqueous solubility. We are trying to alleviate this limitation with the advantages of oral thin film. |

Case 3: Quick relief allergy symptoms Loratadine is a second-generation antihistamine that exhibits a low and variable oral bioavailability (10–40%) and delayed onset owing to poor solubility and an extensive first-pass effect. Leveraging oral thin film technology enables us to offer a wider range of potential solutions to this issue. |

Oral thin film preparation methods include solvent casting method, hot melt extrusion method, inkjet printing technology, etc. Although each method has advantages and limitations, we can help our customers choose the right preparation method based on the properties of antihistamines.
Solvent casting is the most used preparation technology. The process is to dissolve polymers, plasticizers and other excipients in suitable solvents. Then, the antihistamine API is incorporated into the solution and the mixed solution is cast onto a substrate. Finally, the solvent is evaporated, cut, and packaged.
Hot melt extrusion is a continuous processing technique. The antihistamine API, polymer, plasticizer, and other excipients are mixed and then subjected to controlled heat and pressure to form a homogeneous melt. The melt is then extruded through a die to form a thin film.
Inkjet printing technology can deposit precise amounts of a liquid formulation containing the antihistamine and other components onto a substrate, creating a thin film through the controlled deposition of droplets.
Our professional oral thin film experts and laboratory instruments can bring customers comprehensive technical support services and solutions to help you achieve the integration of antihistamines oral thin film development research to administration.
