At CD Formulation, we are dedicated to advancing the field of veterinary healthcare by offering comprehensive evaluation services for products targeting cardiovascular health in animals. With a deep understanding of the critical role cardiovascular health plays in the well-being of animals, we can also collect tissues and fluids to conduct molecular and biochemical analyses providing insights into mechanisms of action.
CD Formulation offers comprehensive evaluation of veterinary products' ability to support healthy blood sugar regulation. Our specialists utilize validated methods including oral glucose tolerance tests, hemoglobin assays, and biomarker analyses to generate robust data on formulations' impacts on glucose metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and related disease risk factors in animals.
CD Formulation specializes in assessing the efficacy of products in regulating blood lipid levels in animals. Through analyzing total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides and other biomarkers, we assess impacts on metabolism and disease risk. With validated methods and expert analysis, we provide valuable insights into the formulation's impact on lipid metabolism and related health factors.
CD Formulation conducts thorough evaluations of supplements' and therapies' ability to regulate blood pressure in veterinary patients. Through ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and assessments of biochemical indicators, we produce data demonstrating formulations' impact on cardiovascular function and associated health risks in dogs and cats. Our customized approach reliably substantiates claims of anti-hypertensive effects.

Test Methods |
|
Serum Triacylglycerol (TG) | The GPO-PAP method involves adding a chromogenic reagent to serum samples, followed by incubation in a water bath at 22-25°C. TG concentration is then quantified by measuring absorbance at 500 nm using a spectrophotometer. |
Serum Total Cholesterol (TC) | An enzymatic colorimetric method is employed where a chromogenic reagent is added to serum and incubated at 37°C to produce a red compound. TC levels are determined by absorbance at 500 nm. |
Serum HDL-C | A precipitating agent is added to serum to remove remaining lipids, followed by centrifugation. The supernatant is tested using the same technique as for TC. |
Serum LDL-C | After supernatant is obtained via precipitation and centrifugation, LDL-C concentration is calculated by subtracting the supernatant cholesterol value from total cholesterol. |
Routine Blood Tests | The number of red blood cells (RBC count), the number of white blood cells (WBC count), hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit (Hct), mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and other items in the blood. |
Blood Biochemical Analysis | Triglycerides, total cholesterol, free fatty acids, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, lipoprotein cholesterol, blood sugar, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), proglutaminyltransferase (γ-GT), albumin (Albumin), urea nitrogen (BUN), muscle acid anhydride (creatinine), uric acid, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), triiodothyronine (T3), tetraiodothyronine (T4), serum sodium and serum potassium, etc. |
Routine Urine Examination | Urine pH, urine protein, urine sugar and other items. |
