The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis for oral thin films is a critical technique for characterizing the crystalline structure of the active pharmaceutical ingredients and other solid-state components in the thin film, which can help to determine the crystal or amorphous nature of the drugs included in the thin film. In this way, it can be checked whether the drugs in the oral thin film have undergone any changes in the preparation process of their conformational sequences and whether they have turned into other polymorphs, this is very important for formulation development, stability, and product quality of the oral thin film. CD Formulation provides professional XRD analytical techniques to meet the specific needs of oral thin films.

Crystalline Phases Identification: Our XRD analysis can help our clients identify and characterize crystalline phases present in oral thin films, and help our clients determine the degree of crystallinity and amorphous content in samples.
Polymorph Identification: Our XRD analysis can help our clients identify and characterize different polymorphs of the active pharmaceutical ingredients present in the oral thin film.
Structural Evaluation: Our XRD analysis can assess the uniformity and homogeneity of the thin film structure, evaluate the impact of formulation and processing parameters on the crystalline structure of the thin films, and investigate the stability and potential phase transformations of the thin film formulations.
We can provide professional oral thin film XRD analysis proposals and testing services from the following steps:

Results: In this study, XRD patterns for pure ingredients and selected mucoadhesive medicated films as well as their corresponding physical mixture were recorded using an X-ray diffractometer equipped with CuKα as the source of radiation. It was observed that the pure drug exhibited a diffraction pattern with numerous distinctive peaks indicating its highly crystalline state. The most abundant peaks were observed at 2θ values of 9.8°, 13.0°, and 15.0° and peaks of lower intensity 2θ values at 16.5°, 18.0°, 21.0°, and 22.0°.
