Tensile strength is the maximum stress applied to a point of film at which the strip specimen breaks, which is an important indicator of oral thin film mechanical properties testing, it determines the durability and integrity of thin film during handling, packaging, and management. CD Formulation uses advanced equipment and techniques to perform tensile strength testing, providing precise measurements of oral thin film's mechanical properties.
Tensile strength is one of the most important parameters in the mechanical properties of oral thin film, which can reflect the load-bearing capacity of thin film products under tensile stress. It has important guiding significance for formulation design, packaging, transportation and use of oral thin film.
Tensile strength testing of oral thin films plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, optimizing formulation, evaluating performance, enhancing safety, meeting regulatory requirements, and maintaining quality control.
For oral thin film tensile strength testing, we usually use a tensile strength tester or universal testing machine (UTM) to complete, and we have a standard testing process to provide accurate testing results. Our testing process is as follows:

Tensile Strength Testing Instruments | Detailed Information |
Tensile Strength Tester | Tensile tester is used to determine the strength and deformation behavior of a material up to the point of fracture, this tester includes load sensors, test software and special fixtures and accessories. place a thin film sample in a detection device and apply a controlled force to pull up the film until it breaks. |
Universal Testing Machine (UTM) | Our UTM is equipped with specialized grips or fixtures that securely hold the film in place during testing. The film is then subjected to controlled tension or pulling force until it reaches its breaking point. The UTM records the applied force and elongation of the film, allowing for the calculation of tensile strength. |

Results: In this study, chitosan microparticles-in-films were prepared by the solvent casting method, the mechanical properties of the films were characterized, and the results show that the tensile strength and elongation at break values obtained for the peptide-loaded CH MPs indicate that the incorporation of the peptide into the films did not significantly alter the tensile strength compared with that of uncoated films.
