What is Contact Angle?

The contact angle is the angle formed between the liquid droplet and the surface of the thin film. Results: In this study, transparent conducting Tin doped Cadmium oxide thin films were prepared by sol-gel spin coating method with different Sn concentrations, and surface roughness variations were analyzed by water contact angle measurement. The microphotographs show water droplets on the prepared substrates to measure the water contact angle. The observed contact angle (-118°, 103°, 93° and 84° for 0%, 1%, 3%, and 5%, respectively) is decreased as increasing Sn doping level indicates the reduction of surface roughness.
