Nanoemulsions represent a cutting-edge technology with potential applications in augmenting the efficacy of nanomedicines through enhanced bioavailability across various therapeutic contexts. By enhancing drug solubility, stability, and delivery efficiency, nanoemulsion technologies play a crucial role in the development of innovative drug formulations. CD Formulation specializes in providing customized nanoemulsions to address specific drug delivery requirements, ensuring the stability and efficacy of the end product align with the client's specifications.
Nanoemulsions, ranging in size from 10 to 1,000 nm, are commonly employed as carriers for pharmaceutical compounds. These nanoemulsions can manifest in three primary configurations: oil-in-water, water-in-oil, and bicontinuous nanoemulsions. They function as effective drug delivery systems, augmenting the therapeutic efficacy of medications while mitigating adverse effects and toxic responses. Nanoemulsions are extensively utilized in the treatment of reticuloendothelial system infections, liver enzyme replacement therapy, cancer management, and vaccination. They offer advantages such as substituting liposomes and vesicles, improving drug bioavailability, exhibiting skin-friendly properties, enhancing carrier stability, featuring small droplets with high absorption capabilities, accommodating diverse dosage forms, aiding in the solubilization of lipophilic drugs, and concealing unpalatable flavors.
Nanoemulsions possess unique properties that make them ideal carriers for delivering active pharmaceutical ingredients and bioactive substances. These properties include optical transparency, ease of preparation, thermodynamic stability, and increased surface area. Nanoemulsions find various applications in nanomedicine and drug delivery, offering benefits such as anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antibacterial, anti-ulcer, and anti-liver and kidney disease treatments. Advancements in nanoemulsion technology have enabled the formulation of these carriers into diverse dosage forms using cost-effective standard operating procedures, including gels, creams, foams, aerosols, and sprays. Moreover, nanoemulsions can be administered through multiple routes such as orally, topically, intravenously, intrapulmonary, intranasally, and intraocularly.

After continuous exploration and research, CD Formulation finally built our new nanoemulsion technology platform for nanoemulsion preparation and characterization.
Nanoemulsions are composed of key components such as oil, emulsifier, and a water phase. These formulations typically incorporate active pharmaceuticals, additives, and emulsifiers. Various techniques are employed in the preparation of nanoemulsions, including high-energy stirring, ultrasonic emulsification, high-pressure homogenization, microfluidization, membrane emulsification, phase transition temperature, emulsion transition point, and spontaneous emulsification. Furthermore, reverse nanoemulsions can be produced in high-viscosity systems by combining high-energy and low-energy emulsification methods.
In order to obtain a stable nanoemulsion, there should be no internal phase, no emulsification, and no microbial deterioration, and the appearance, color, odor, and consistency should meet the requirements. To ensure the effectiveness and safety of nanoemulsions and to improve their bioavailability, CD Formulation has constructed the characterization technology platform for multiple parameters of nanoemulsions such as droplet size analysis, viscometry, drug content, polydispersity, refractive index, conductivity, pH, zeta potential, etc.
Depending on our nanoemulsion technology, we can provide personalized development services for nanoemulsions to meet customers' different requirements. We have an updated and comprehensive knowledge of the distinct characteristics and applications of nanoemulsions, and we pay great attention to designing and creating personalized nanoemulsion customization solutions to ensure the robustness and clinical effectiveness of nanoemulsions, thereby promoting the application of nanoemulsions in different fields.

The authors developed an ophthalmic oil-in-water nanoemulsion (NEs) technology platform, prepared ocular oil-in-water nanoemulsions, used NE formulations with different key material properties and key formulation variables, and conducted simulated tear turnover and blinking to study the in vitro and in vivo correlation of ocular oil-in-water nanoemulsions. This study has far-reaching implications for the development and application of drugs for the treatment of dry eye disease.
