About Melting Time Measurement

Our melting time tester can be used to check the melting, softening or disintegration of solid preparations such as suppositories or vaginal tablets under specified conditions. The main features of the melting time limit tester are: three metal frames can be reversed automatically and synchronously according to the operation mode set by the user, a unique automatic ascending and manual turning method is adopted to ensure easy use and cleaning of the test vessel, constant temperature water circulation to reach ≤ ± 0.1 accuracy, automatic temperature control, automatic time recording, timed turning indication forecast and fault alarm.

Test procedure

Three prepared suppositories were placed at room temperature for 1 h, placed in the sleeve of the melting time limit instrument, immersed in a container of water with the upper end positioned 90 mm below the water surface, and the device was turned over in the solution every 10 min. Fatty matrix suppository 3 grains should all melt within 30 min, soften or no hard heart when touching pressure, such as 1 grain does not meet the requirements, should take another 3 grains retest, all should meet the requirements.
